The live-action Japanese anime Gudetama An Eggcellent Adventure trailer was released on Netflix. One of the most well-known new Sanrio characters is Gudetama. He was developed in 2013 by the artist Nagashima Emi, whose name is stylized as AMY, and came in second in a Sanrio competition for new characters based on foods.

Netflix will release a Gudetama series in 2022
In 2013, a brand-new character was introduced to the Sanrio world, and he or she quickly became one of Japan’s most recognizable cultural figures. Among Sanrio’s other adorable anthropomorphic mascots, Gudetama, a lethargic egg with buttocks, stood out for its amusing design and capacity to appeal to children.

This year, Netflix is releasing a CG animated series based on Gudetama in response to the persistent appeal of the sluggish egg. Additionally, the future game’s teaser has recently been made public.
The egg is famous for its aversion to movement or any kind of activity that involves sitting up, so it’s ironic that the new feature is titled ‘An Eggcellent Adventure’. The show’s synopsis, however, suggests that Gudetama is in for a pretty big journey ahead.

Ironically, despite the egg’s well-known hatred of motion or any activity that demands standing or sitting up, the new movie’s title is “An Eggcellent Adventure.” However, it appears from the anime’s synopsis that Gudetama has a long journey in front of him.
After Shakipiyo, an annoying little chick put up a lot of resistance, Gudetama is ready to set out on a journey to find its mother. Our egg protagonist is unaware of how much time has elapsed since they parted ways, therefore the mission won’t be easy.
Although a release date has not yet been set, keep an eye on this page for updates on what Netflix will be releasing in the near future.

Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure trailer
During their Tudum Japan event, Netflix released the official trailer for Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure. The trailer begins with a perplexed Gudetama inquiring where it is, then cuts to shots of it slowly following everything that is happening around it.
They are questioned about their relationship by the vivacious Shakipiyo, who urges Gudetama to embark on an adventure with her in search of their mother. It responds in classic Gudetama style, saying, “Go by yourself.”
Gudetama is dragged along on an expedition with Shakapiyo despite its reluctance to participate, where it braves the weather, getting eaten, and going rotten. Gudetama: An Excellent Adventure will stream exclusively on Netflix starting on December 13, according to the trailer’s ending.

In June, a tweet from Netflix’s Geeked Twitter account announced the hybrid live-action series. A series that will come after Gudetama was hinted at “Shakapiyo, an exuberant and overbearing chick, drags a listless egg out of the fridge, knowing that all that lies ahead is someone’s plate. The unusual couple embarks on a mission to locate their mother as a unit.”
Yuko Hara’s “Gudetama March” is the show’s theme music. The cast also features Serena Motola (The Phone of the Wind, XXXHOLiC), Sarutoki Minagawa (Death Note, Bakuman), and Akiyoshi Nakao (Ace Attorney, Kamen Rider: Beyond Generations) as yet-unknown characters. Akiyoshi Nakao plays a suspicious man who sees Gudetama and wants to catch him.

Gudetama’s popularity is a result of connecting with millennials

Gudetama name, which was conceptualized by Sanrio designer AMY, is a mashup of the ideophone “gudegude,” which conjures up feelings of sloth, and “tama,” which is the first half of the Japanese word for egg, “tamago.” Gudetama’s name combines to approximately mean “lazy egg.” The name Gudetama is appropriate for the character’s sluggish, melancholy demeanor.
After a long day at work, the designer was cooking dinner when she spotted the droopy yolk of the egg she was frying. This is how the notion of Gudetama was born. She thought the yolk was cute because it was droopy, but she couldn’t help but think about the young people of today who were tired of life. Gudetama was “born” as a result, and AMY’s concept was a success.
Gudetama became one of Sanrio’s most well-known characters and the most followed person on Twitter because millennials were drawn to its mopey disposition.
