While other studios contend with the nightmare of shut theaters, the world’s most popular streaming service Netflix continues with its 2021 slate includes 70-plus titles, eight of which are animated. In October 2020, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos revealed that the company is aiming to start releasing six original animated features a year. Animation studio such as Nickelodeon signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, in which the studio show its intent to transit to adapted “studio model”. With new model, Nickelodgeon studio will increasingly create content for third parties such as streaming companies like Netflix.
